On the left side of shaft near the head is very faint writing: "Harvey Moore, Mountaineers Club, Seattle." The inside of the strap has the same inscription.On loan to WSSSMOwned by Harvey E. Moore, donated by nephew Chris Jacobsen. (Moore is said to have been a Mountaineers member from around 1909-40.)

Snowshoes, WWII 10th Mountain Division army design. Wood framed and stamped "U.S., C.A. Lund, Hastings, Minn." Also stamped "1942" and "10 x 56". Snowshoes have varnished rawhide webbing and leather bindings. (See binding detail.)

Archives, left of S1Snowshoes were owned by Merrill Musgrave, born 1895 in Bellingham, WA and died 1982 in Everett, WA. Donated by Kathi Knowles whose grandmother was Merrill's first cousin.
