Eric Linxweiler of the Mountaineers sent this DVD to Lowell Skoog of the Mountaineers History Committee.  Fred Beckey probably has the original film. No explicit rights were obtained with this DVD.

This DVD image was created by Alpha Cine Lab from a MiniDV transfer also done by them. All films were transferred at 24 frames per second (standard speed for sound movies).

For this version, Alpha Cine re-transferred the 1922 Mount Rainier newsreel at the silent film speed (18fps) instead of the sound film speed (24fps). This makes the climbers' movements more realistic. This DVD was authored by Danny Miller, with a top-level menu that enables selection of individual newsreels.

Bauer, Wolf

Subjects include skiing in Bavaria, skiing in the U.S., climbing, mountain rescue, kayaking, environmentalism, and a few of Wolf's old photographs. A short addendum (presumedly the 9/21/1992 interview) discusses preservation of the Green River Gorge.

Sound quality good but most of the picture has gone bad, making Wolf look like a fuzzy electronic ghost.
