UW Special Collections contain many of these oral histories. In some cases, UW has the original and Mountaineers have a copy. In other cases, the reverse is true.

Sometimes either the UW or the Mountaineers have a copy, but the other organization does not. The "Mountaineers Have" column records what the Mountaineer Archives at Magnuson Park actually contain.

Backups of all digital media held by The Mountaineers can be found in our Digital Archives.

AddendaMore Notes:

  1. This page was created on mountaineers.org from paper records in the early 2000s. The original page was never checked against the actual contents of our archives.
  2. In April 2014 the contents of this page were moved from mountaineers.org to this Confluence wiki. The original hand-built web page was movedĀ here.
  3. During the winter of 2017-18, we made an inventory of all oral history tapes and files in our archives and updated this page. At the same time, we digitized all physical tapes in our possession and copied oral histories held by the University of Washington from the UW website (when available). This updated inventory documents our knowledge of these collections at this time.
  4. During the 2017-18 inventory, we didn't locate all of the physical media items listed in our paper records. In these cases, we retained the entries in the Physical Media column above (in the hope of eventually finding these materials), while noting in the Mountaineers Have column whether we actually have the associated physical media in our possession.
  5. Digitized oral histories are preserved in our Digital Archives.
